Hello & welcome to my cozy little corner of the internet!
I’m Kate, and along with my husband Stefan, our two kids, and some furry friends, we’ve chosen a path that might not be the easiest, but it’s the one that feels most true to us.
I never set out to homeschool. In fact, despite my extensive formal training in education, I always felt drawn to alternative ways of learning.

The idea of homeschooling quietly tugged at my heart, so I began to explore, learn, and unlearn much of what I had been taught about education.
Living a life without school, in a world that so strongly values conformity and checking all the boxes, can feel intimidating. The road less traveled is rarely smooth. It’s bumpy, unpredictable, and often confusing. There are no clear directions, no fast-paced “success stories” to follow, and people will often question your choices, asking why you’re not just taking the “main road.” But this is the path I’m choosing for my family, and I’m committed to it because it feels right—deep in my heart. This journey is all about embracing who we are, listening to our instincts, and designing a life that’s authentic to our values. It’s not always easy, but it’s beautiful, and it’s ours.

One of the reasons I’m sharing this part of my journey is because I want you to know you’re not alone. If you’ve ever felt the call to live differently, to parent and educate outside the box, this is a place for you. There’s no one “right” way to live here—no checklist to follow or “day in the life” to replicate. What matters is figuring out what works best for you and your family, and having the courage to trust that path.
I’ve spent countless hours reading, learning, and reflecting on how to live this alternative lifestyle with intention and confidence. Now, I want to share that knowledge and support others who are at any point on this journey—whether you’re just starting or have been walking this road for a while.
Thank you for being here. Together, we can build a community where we honour the beauty of living life on our own terms.
